Perspective

I needed a reminder this morning that I am but a small, small part of the timeline of life, and I didn't even know I needed the reminder.

Until:

I was throwing sticks for my dog, and I turned around and saw this, and started laughing so hard I had to sit down in the wet grass.

It's the moon! Right in my backyard. At 7 in the morning.

Amazing.

There is some kiss we want with
our whole lives, the touch of

spirit on the body. Seawater
begs the pearl to break its shell.

And the lily, how passionately
it needs some wild darling! At

night, I open the window and ask
the moon to come and press its

face against mine. Breathe into
me. Close the language- door and

open the love window. The moon
won't use the door, only the window.

Small, yes, and oh, so big... in the eyes of your dog you are the stick-throwing goddess at the center of the universe. Perspective!

Love that Oscar Wilde quote.

Came by you at Velvet Lava. Isn't she great?

I have a similar post when I had a moon-gasm. It's amazing what that rock can do to a girl...

I too love that Wilde quote... and Rumi. Oh, Rumi.

I like thinking of you sitting down and laughing about the moon.
